The University of Louisville is home to more than 100 residency and fellowship programs—supported by an incredible team of nearly 75 program coordinators who truly make it all possible. This year, we celebrated our coordinator superstars with a special luncheon and wellness session focused on reflection and renewal.

During the session, coordinators took time to reflect on moments when they were at their very best and explored what thriving and flourishing mean to them—both personally and professionally. The celebration also featured a small gift and fun raffle giveaways, adding a little extra excitement and appreciation to an already inspiring afternoon of connection, gratitude, and celebration of the extraordinary people who keep our programs running strong.

Our group of coordinators organized a wonderful activity where we attended a talk on teamwork and recognizing stress and anxiety in the workplace. We also enjoyed a candle-making workshop and shared a lovely dinner. We had an amazing time and were able to truly connect with one another!

We kicked off GME Professionals Appreciation Day with a celebratory lunch featuring burritos, chips, and queso generously provided by our director! It was a wonderful opportunity to come together and enjoy great conversations. Our GME team works hard every day, and we are incredibly grateful for each and every coordinator whose dedication helps make our team successful!

For GME Professionals Day, we celebrated our extremely talented group of GME Program Managers, GME Specialists, Institutional Managers and our Director. It was a wonderful team building day, where we learned about each of our team members and their DiSC Profiles. It was an amazing afternoon together and we truly feel it strengthened our team!

The Pediatric Program Coordinators at McGovern medical School UTHealth at Houston celebrated GME Professionals Day early during the August 11 CANDY Chat. We welcomed our new Assistant Director of Medical Education, everyone was given a sound and light activated magic wand because we all know Program Coordinators Create Magic! Everyone left the meeting a millionaire with Millionaire Candy!

Our residents and faculty absolutely spoiled us for GME Professionals Day!! Coffee, lunch, cake, flowers and so much more! They decorated our door the funniest and cutest way ever! We are so very thankful for our work family!

We took our admin team out for lunch to a local bagel spot that’s new in town. We then went to do a Christmas theme escape room, because this team loves Christmas! Matching t-shirts were ordered for the day that say “making sure there is a doctor in the house”. The team was then given the rest of the day off!

We celebrated at The Puttery with food, drinks, and a really cool putt putt experience. We’re grateful to our GME professionals for all they do each day to support our program leaders and trainees.

For GME Professionals Day, the TTUHSC-Permian Basin GME Office hosted a luncheon where we shared a meal, gave gifts with TTUHSC swag, and came together as a team to honor the dedication and hard work of our GME leadership.

To celebrate our wonderful Coordinators we had a retreat and played pickleball! It was a great team building experience and were able to discuss what we want to work on for the next year. We love our coordinators!!!

For this year’s GME Professional Day, we proudly put our “Boots to the Ground” in celebration of our residency and fellowship program coordinators. With the enthusiastic support of GME leadership and the GME Program Coordinator Professional Development (PCPD) Committee, we transformed the day into a lively country carnival-themed lunch.

Coordinators arrived dressed in festive attire, from cowboy boots, hats, fans, and smiles, they were ready to celebrate themselves and each other. The event featured classic carnival games, delicious, themed food and treats, line dancing, and plenty of laughter and networking. It was a joyful and energizing experience that brought our community together in a meaningful way.

Despite the current budget climate, the GME office went above and beyond to make the day special. Their continued commitment to recognizing and uplifting program coordinators was deeply appreciated and made the celebration even more impactful.

Our institution came together to celebrate the amazing work of our 60+ program coordinators and recognize the dedication and teamwork that keep our programs thriving. Luncheon celebration and recognition of all of our program coordinators and their collective work. We also celebrated our “Program Coordinators of the Year” nominees and the Program Coordinator of the Year winner, Ms. Karolina Marczewski.

A big shout out to our GME Professionals in the amazing MUSC-Regional Network!! After a wonderful morning GME conference, our DIO treated our hard-working group to a great lunch in a beautiful setting overlooking coastal SC! It was such a treat to get to know people better outside the office and realize their ‘wonderfulness’ extends way behind work hours! Thank you to all our valued professionals serving across our beautiful state!

Our GME Team celebrated GME Professionals day with a breakfast, human bingo and a photo booth. All members of our team received a GME-branded apparel item of their choice. We have an awesome team of institutional and program coordinators who we love to celebrate throughout the year!

Our GME Professional Development Committee’s “Reset, Relax & Rest” event was a wonderful celebration of wellness and appreciation. From wellness giveaways and games to beaded plant art and a shared lunch, the event encouraged relaxation, connection, and gratitude while recognizing the dedication of our GME professionals.

At our Main Campus Market we celebrated with a grab and go goodie station where the GME caregiver could stop by and fill a bag of snacks! We also had a coffee bar set up for them as well. We hosted this for an entire week as we know our caregivers are not all in office each day and wanted to ensure that everyone had an opportunity to come by.

We had a great afternoon celebration for our coordinators, program managers, GME staff and administrative support with a taco bar and a candle making activity. at KUMC we have 60+ coordinators at KU that support 70 programs across several different campus, they are our boots on the ground and we couldn’t do it without them! At Baylor University Medical Center, we extended the celebration of GME Professionals Day into a full Medical Education Appreciation Week recognizing both our Undergraduate Medical Education and Graduate Medical Education team members. Throughout the week, we enjoyed brunch, chair massages, an ice cream social, team-building games, an off-site lunch and professional development session at a local restaurant, and donuts and coffee.

It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the essential work our medical education professionals do every day in support of our medical students, residents and fellows, faculty, and Program Directors. We are proud of our dedicated team and all they do to support medical education!

This year, Emory SOM GME Office, in collaboration with the GME Program Coordinator Professional Development (PCPD) Task Force, kicked-off the celebrations by hosting a Sip & Frost Brunch for all Program Coordinators & Administrators/Managers. This activity was a fun instructor-led get-together, where everyone showed their unique creativity in cake decorating. Brunch was provided, in addition to music, laughs, games, and giveaways.The GME PCPD Taskforce hopes to inspire residents/fellows, faculty and staff to find their owns ways to express their sense gratitude for their Program Coordinators & Administrator.

We celebrated our Training Program Administrators with an evening function at a golf course, with our GME leaders and DIO in attendance. We didn’t play golf, but we enjoyed the property with food and drinks, networking, and celebrating each other. We also gave each TPA a small gift. We had a fabulous time.

Our institution celebrated GME Professional Day with a wonderful Program Administrator Recognition Luncheon! We were each surprised with a beautiful bento box, which was such a thoughtful gesture. 💙

Great afternoon celebrating the extraordinary coordinators and leaders who support our more than 80 residency and fellowship programs!

On the occasion of GME Professional Day, our team seized the opportunity to take a well-deserved pause from our busy schedules. We enjoyed a delightful lunch together and engaged in a relaxing pottery session to help destress. After several months filled with preparations for ACGME site visits, offboarding, onboarding, graduation, and orientation, it was truly refreshing to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to each member of my team for their unwavering hard work and dedication. This gathering not only allowed us to unwind but also strengthened our camaraderie and appreciation for one another’s contributions.

The was truly a day for GME and wellness. HCA Palms West, JFK North and JFK Main Hospital got together for lunch on the beach that overlooked the waters. Thank you all for all you do!

To celebrate we went out to lunch at Boca Oyster Bar in Bridgeport, CT which is located at Steelpoint Harbor. It was a beautiful afternoon with amazing professionals.

The GME office took our coordinators to The Pioneer Woman Mercantile in Pawhuska, OK. We toured the Lodge where she films her cooking show and then ate lunch at the restaurant inside The Mercantile. It was a great day!

The Prisma Health GME Team celebrated GME Professionals Day with a detective-themed professional development event focused on collaboration, problem-solving, and growth. The day featured a “Use Your Resources” scavenger hunt that encouraged participants to explore key tools and support systems, as well as educational sessions on lessons learned about maintaining professional boundaries as a Program Administrator and applying Just Culture principles when addressing resident and fellow issues.

I wanted to take a moment to share the wonderful time we had celebrating our recent GME Professional Day. Our team gathered at a fantastic local craft restaurant, where we enjoyed great food and even better company. It was a perfect opportunity to unwind, connect, and appreciate each other’s contributions to our success.Following our meal, we headed over to Pinspiration; a local DIY studio where you can create Pinterest-inspired craft studio; where we unleashed our creativity and worked on some fun projects together. It was a delightful way to foster teamwork and collaboration while also exploring our artistic sides. The laughter and camaraderie we shared made the day truly memorable.It’s these moments that strengthen our bond as a team and remind us of how fortunate we are to work together.I wanted to take a moment to express our gratitude to our supervisor Amy Land, and to our DIO Dr. Geria. Your generosity and thoughtfulness truly mean a lot to us, and we really appreciate your support and leadership. Thank you once again for creating such a positive team culture!

Our team celebrated GME Professionals Day with a mix of fun and teamwork on the pickleball courts! It was a great way to connect outside of the office, strengthen relationships, and celebrate the important work we do together.

The University of Kentucky Office of Graduate Medical Education held their inaugural Program Administrator Recognition Luncheon. This luncheon celebrated all GME Program Administrators with an Italian lunch and a token of appreciation in the form of a monogrammed leather padfolio and business card holder. The luncheon also honored three award winners for our GME Rising Star Award, GME Excellence in Program Management, and GME Distinguished Program Administrator of the Year. To celebrate our GME professionals in New Mexico this year, we put together a short video filled with messages from our staff thanking program coordinators and administrators around the state for their contributions and dedication to their residency programs. Today is our first day of interviews, but in between my PD & APD surprised me with 2 dozen beautiful pink roses, and Crumbl cookies, and I happen to have worn pink today that matches the roses and the Crumbl box. The best part is that I got to celebrate it with Mr. Worldwide, Mr. 305, my favorite, Pitbull!!!!

GME celebrated by providing ice cream for all GME professionals!

We celebrated by hosting our 7th Annual GME Administrative Professionals Retreat. We spent an exciting day teaching, learning, networking, and building relationships. This year, we invited Program Directors to participate for a portion of the day. The energy was fun and positive. It was a true success!

At Northwell Health, the Eastern Region GME Team celebrated GME Professionals Day with a very much deserved luncheon. Stepping back and taking time for ourselves is very rare, especially in the line of work. Today we shared a great lunch (not in front of a computer), laughed, and enjoyed each other’s company. I’m so lucky to work with so many amazing GME Professionals!!! Happy GME Professionals Day everyone 🙂

For 2024, The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston celebrated GME Professionals Day with the SUPERHEROES. The primary focus was the Program Coordinators. Prior to the actual day, the DIO sent notification to the Program Directors, residents and fellows highlighting the importance of this day to coordinators. Also suggested ideas were given on how to celebrate the day within in program. The GME Office also gifted coordinators a bag, a program coordinators survival kit and information about the coordinator advisory group – PACAG. Considering coordinators are located at various buildings within the medical center, the location was strategic. The main medical school building was a mini pick-up station which encouraged coordinators to step away from their desks. Coordinators also had the opportunity to participate in a giveaway. The prize was a book on Graduate Medical Education Interview Templates. Finally, a social media “superhero” frame campaign was launched and shared with various social media groups in the GME community. This campaign has supporters of 100 GME Professionals to date. HAPPY GME PROFESSIONALS DAY 🙂

The GME Team for HCA Las Palmas Del Sol in El Paso, TX celebrated by meeting for breakfast and coffee at Starbucks before heading over for a cake decorating class where many, many laughs and smiles were shared. We then ended the day together with lunch, sharing delicious pizza at a local restaurant.

Started our morning with Starbucks and some bonding time, then HR hosted E Colors activity, we all got to learn a little bit more about each other. We finished our morning with lunch from a local restaurant and a bag full of swag. We appreciate everything GME does to support us ! We love our team, it’s the best!

We had a wonderful day celebration our BayCare GME Professionals by creating custom candles at The Candle Pour, and having lunch at Timpano Restaurant, in Tampa, FL.

KUMC GME celebrated our incredible Program Coordinators with a day focused on appreciation, connection, and fun! The celebration included a cookie decorating class and a “PC Passport” activity designed to encourage networking and relationship-building among coordinators from different departments, while giving participants the opportunity to earn great prizes.

Throughout the event, a rolling PowerPoint featured personalized words of appreciation from Program Directors, residents, and fellows recognizing the meaningful impact of each coordinator. Each PC received a copy of Holding It All Together and a personal annual planner, enjoyed a taco bar and ice cream, and left with a backpack filled with gifts and prizes.

Most importantly, we wanted every Program Coordinator to leave knowing that their hard work is seen, their contributions matter, and they are truly appreciated for all they do to support their programs, residents, fellows, and GME community.

We celebrate together on GME Professionals Day by taking a 1/2 day to relax and enjoy some fun together at my home. Dining on appetizers galore and cool beverages on a sunny day in August helps get us set up for the fall and winter season! Our large team of coordinators and GME office staff enjoy the time together!
